1. Introduction of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics
Shanghai University of Finance and Economics is a key research-oriented university directly under the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, which focuses on economics and management, and it has coordinated the development of multiple disciplines such as economics, management, law, liberal arts, sciences, and philosophy. It is the first batch of national first-class universities and disciplines of the world, and the key construction universities of the national “Project 211” and “Project 985 Innovation Platform”. Shanghai University of Finance and Economics has been selected as one of the national construction of high-level university public graduate projects, Chinese institutions admitting international students under Chinese government scholarship programs, and a national deepen innovation and entrepreneurship education reform demonstration university. As of September 2017, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics has three campuses and covers 826 mu. 2. What are Shanghai University of Finance and Economics Scholarships?
(1) Shanghai University of Finance and Economics Scholarships: The first prize (the people’s scholarship in China) accounts for 2% of the total number of students, and it contains 1,500 RMB per academic year for each student. The second prize accounts for 6% of the total number of students, and it contains 1,000 RMB per academic year for each student. The third prize accounts for 12% of the total number of students, and it contains 500 RMB per academic year for each student.
(2) Shanghai University of Finance and Economics Scholarships: The conditions, amount, proportion, and other related matters of various scholarships set up by society and enterprises in the university are decided by the school and scholarship providers through consultation. However, all types of society and enterprise scholarship winners must be the recipients of the People’s Scholarship of the Year.

3. International students celebrated the Spring Festival at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics
On the evening of January 17, 2020, the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics held a Spring Festival’s Eve dinner and a party for teachers and students to express care for students who stay in the school during the Spring Festival. International students from more than 20 countries such as Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Indonesia, Venezuela, and Ghana also came to the event to celebrate the Spring Festival with Chinese students. The university carefully prepared an abundant Spring Festival’s Eve dinner and a party for the students to make them feel warmth.
The teachers and students together enjoyed the artistic performances carefully arranged by the school art troupe. International students also brought passionate singing performances to experience the festive atmosphere of the Spring Festival together with the Chinese students. Teachers came to each table to greet and wish students and gave the New Year red envelopes that represent auspiciousness and peace. In addition to the Spring Festival’s Eve dinner and the party, the university also sent gift packages to the students who stayed in the school during the Spring Festival, which included a Spring Festival gift box, movie coupon, and meal coupon. Also, the university will provide free meals for students staying in school during the Spring Festival Eve and the whole day of the first day of the Lunar New Year.
