1.Vehicle Engineering
Many candidates and parents mentioned that vehicle engineering is naturally considered to be related to the design and manufacture of cars. In fact, locomotives, military vehicles, various engineering vehicles, and work vehicles are all part of the research of vehicle engineering. However, the focus of research in different schools is different. For example, Southwest Jiaotong University, Beijing Jiaotong University, and Tongji University are quite distinctive in the design and manufacture of railways, highway traffic, and urban rail transit vehicles. Jilin University and Northeastern University have specialized expertise in engineering vehicles such as heavy transport vehicles, large cranes, excavators, road rollers, and engineering rescue vehicles. Tianjin University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Tsinghua University are strong in vehicle engines (internal combustion engines).
This major requires students to systematically learn and master the basic theories of mechanical design and manufacturing and to learn the basic knowledge of microelectronics, computer application technology, and information processing technology. It has the basic ability to carry out mechanical and vehicle product design, manufacturing and equipment control, production organization management, and is capable of competent engineering personnel in the design, manufacture, and operation management of rail transit vehicles.
2.Rail transit information and control
The rail transit signal and control specialty is the original railway signal technology. It mainly trains the mastery of automatic control theory, rail transit control technology, computer principle and application technology, sensor and detection technology, programmable controller principle and application, power electronics technology, etc. Basic theory, expertise and basic skills, information and control expertise in high-speed rail, passenger dedicated lines, subways, and urban rail transit.
After graduation, the students are mainly engaged in research, design, development, system integration, construction, and management of information and control in high-speed railways, subways, urban rail transit, railways of factories, and mines.
There are currently 33 colleges and universities nationwide offering this major. The higher rankings are Beijing Jiaotong University, Southwest Jiaotong University, Lanzhou Jiaotong University, and Dalian Jiaotong University.
3.Mechanical design and manufacturing and automation
Mechanical design, manufacturing, and automation majors mainly study the basic theories of mechanical design and manufacturing, learn the basic knowledge of microelectronics, computer technology, and information processing technology. Students will be trained by modern mechanical engineers and use advanced design and manufacturing techniques. To solve complex technical problems in the field of modern engineering, to achieve intelligent design and manufacture of products.
This is also a wide-caliber specialty called “Wanjin Oil”. Students have a lot of choices in both employment and career.
There are currently 500 colleges and universities across the country that offer this major, which is the most common college major. However, the research direction is mainly railway locomotives and some transportation schools: Beijing Jiaotong University, Central South University, Southwest Jiaotong University, East China Jiaotong University, Dalian Jiaotong University.
4.Transportation Equipment and Control Engineering
The transportation equipment and control engineering major mainly studies the technical theory and basic knowledge of transportation equipment and electromechanical system design. Master the overall performance of transportation equipment, electromechanical systems and components, structural performance and design methods of each device, manufacturing process methods, fault diagnosis, detection methods, and application capabilities. At the same time, we must learn professional electrical and electronic technology and computer basic knowledge and skills, and systematically master the information and control technology of mechanical and electrical systems of transportation equipment, and have the ability to solve the problem of mechatronics.
At present, there are only 12 colleges and universities offering this major nationwide. The employment advantage of students after graduation is very obvious. The top-ranked universities include Central South University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Chongqing Jiaotong University, North China University of Technology, and Dalian Jiaotong University.
5.Electrical Engineering and Automation
Electrical engineering and automation is a highly specialized discipline. Students mainly study a wide range of engineering and technical knowledge and certain professional knowledge in electrical engineering, electronic technology, information control, and computer technology. The main features of this major are the combination of strong and weak electricity, the combination of electrical and electronic technologies, the combination of software and hardware, and the combination of components and systems. Students receive basic training in electrical and electronic, information control, and computer technology, and have the basic ability to solve technical problems in electrical engineering technology analysis and control.
In high-speed rail technology, the research direction often used in this specialty is the electrification of orbital traction. Focus on cultivating high-tech talents in the research, design, maintenance, and management of traction drive and control of rail transit vehicles and traction power supply systems. The universities with this research direction are Beijing Jiaotong University, Southwest Jiaotong University, East China Jiaotong University.
